Answer:

10 students

Explanation:

First find the sum of the ratio:

1 + 4 = 5

Number of students =
(number in ratio)/(sum of ratio) × total

=
(1)/(5) × 50

= 10

∴ 10 out of 50 are students.

( The rest are parents; 50-10=40parents )

Answer:

  • 10 students

Explanation:

Let the number of students is x, then the number of parents is 4x

Total number of people is 50:

  • x + 4x = 50

Solve for x:

  • 5x = 50
  • x = 10

There are 10 students
