Answer:

The point is not a solution of the two equations

Explanation:

2x+y=4

y=-2x+4

Subsitute it into the other equation

2x+7(-2x+4)=14

2x-14x+28=14

-12x+28=14

-12x=-14

x= 7/6 or 1.17

Plug this back into the original equation

y=-2x+4

y=-2(1.17)+4

y=1.66

The solution of these two equations is (1.17, 1.66) which doesn't match the given point of (4,-4), so the point is not a solution of the two equations.
