The proper angle for a ladder is about 75' from the ground. Suppose you have a 21 foot ladder. How high

can it reach?

The ladder gets propped against the house, making a 75 degree angle with the ground. We can use the fact that cos(75°)=base distance/length of ladder to figure out the length of the base. Multiplying both sides by length of ladder we get, length of ladder×cos(75°)=base distance.Nov 6, 2019
