A rectangular prism has a length of 12 centimeters, a width of 6 centimeters, and a height of 9 centimeters. A cross section is formed by the prism and a plane that intersects the prism as shown. Find the area of the cross section.

If you take 12 centimeters then divide that by 2 square, then multiply the width 6 centimeters, and the height 9 centimeters, then multiply all of that by 12, the answer is 72.

Therefore the area of the cross section is 72.
