what is 3x- 12 = -2x - 42 ??? I know it equals -6 cause i did it on a caculator but how do i explain my answer ??

3x+2x=-42+12

(when the number crosses the equal sign it changes signs)

5x/5=-30/5

(We devided by 5 cause we looking for x not 5x)
