Explanation:

2/3 + 3/4 = 17/12

17/12x = 93.5

17/12x x 12 = 93.5 x 12

17x = 1122

17x/17 = 1122/17

x = 66

2/3x = 66 x 2/3

2/3x = 44

3/4x = 66 x 3/4

3/4x = 49.5

44 + 49.5 = 93.5

John earned $44 while Mary earned $49.5.
