In Triangle JKL, K is 3 times the measure of J, and L is 8 times the measure of J. Find the measure of each angle in Triangle JKL.

Answer: The measure of angle J = 15°, measure of angle K =45° and the measure of angle J = 120°.

Explanation:

Let the measure of angle J be x.

Then, the measure of angle K will be 3x

and the measure of angle L = 8x

Since the sum of all angles of a triangle is 180 degrees.

Then,

angle J + angle K + angle L = 180 degrees

⇒ x+3x+8x =180

⇒ 12x = 180

⇒x = 15 [divide both sides by 12]

Hence, the measure of angle J = 15°, measure of angle K = 3(15) =45° and the measure of angle J = 8 (15) = 120°.

i.e. the measure of angle J = 15°, measure of angle K =45° and the measure of angle J = 120°.
