Sam is needing to make copies of a flyer for his new business. Store W charges $5 for unlimited copies and store Z charges $0.20 per copy and $2 for using the machine.

How many copies makes both stores cost the same amounts?

Answer:

15 dollars

Explanation:

Store W charges 5 dollars for unlimited copies, so the number of copies does not matter for store W.

Because store W offers unlimited copies for $5, that will be the amount that store Z has to charge to be the same amount.

Now, we know that store Z charges you 2 dollars at the start for the use of the machine, so you subtract from the total amount from store W, 5 dollars.

5-2=3

So now you have 3 dollars to pay for the copies from store Z.

Each copy from store Z costs $.20.

Divide 3 by .20

3/.20=15
