The figure above is a triangle. The area of a triangle is equal to: A=1/2B•H

We see that the segment of 10cm is an altitude bisector, so that is the height of the triangle. The base is 12 cm. Therefore:

A=1/2(12)•(10)

A=120/2

A=60cm^2
