Point 1 = (-1, 4)

Point 2 = (-5, - 2)

x1 = - 1 ; x2 = - 5

y1 = 4 ; y2 = - 2

Slope = Rise / Run

Rise = (x2 - x1) = - 5 - (-1) = - 5 + 1 = - 4

Run = (y2 - y1) = - 2 - 4 = - 6

Hence,

Slope = - 4 / - 6 = 4 /6 = 2/3

Slope = 2/3
