Answer:

y = -1/2x + 5/2

Explanation:

Mid-point = ((-1 + 3) / 2 , (-5 + -1 )/ 2)

= (1 , -3)

Gradient = (-1 - -5 )/(-3 - -5)

= 2

m1_ = -1/2

y = mx + b ( we have to find b)

y = -1/2 x + b (we will use mid point x = x and y = y)

-3 = -1/2 (1) + b

-3 = -0.5 + b

b = -3 + 0.5

b = -5/2

so,

y = -1/2x + 5/2
