Animals can adapt to the new conditions OVER TIME. But, at the rate at which climate change is occuring, there is not enough time for animals to evolve in a way that will keep their species alive. Evolution takes a long time, it doesn't happen over night. On top of that, many oceans are becoming acidic and are losing oxygen faster than marine animals can evolve.
