Answer:

81.3 feet

Explanation:

A shark is swimming 28 feet below sea level. If the angle of depression from a boat on the water is 19 degrees What is the distance between the boat and the shark?

We solve the above question using Trigonometric function of Tangent

tan θ = Opposite/Adjacent

θ = Angle of depression = 19°

Distance between the boat and the shark = Adjacent = ? = x

Opposite = 28 feet

Hence:

tan 19 = 28/x

Cross Multiply

tan 19 × x = 28

x = 28/tan 19

x = 81.317904575 feet

Approximately = 81.3 feet

The distance between the boat and the shark is 81.3 feet
