A truck can be rented from Company A for ​$90 a day plus ​$0.30 per mile. Company B charges ​$40 a day plus ​$0.40 per mile to rent the same truck. Find the number of miles in a day at which the rental costs for Company A and Company B are the same.

The answer is 500 miles

Explanation:

So, 500 x 0.40 is equal to $200. And if we add the $40 a day fee it's now $240.

And the other company charges $0.30 a mile. So that equation is:

500 x 0.30 = $150 plus the $90 fee is $240.
