Answer:

h = 15, A = 540

Explanation:

Since the 2 legs are congruent then h is a perpendicular bisector, dividing the triangle into 2 right triangles.

Using Pythagoras' identity on one of the right triangles

with leg 72 ÷ 2 = 36 and hypotenuse = 39

h² + 36² = 39²

h² + 1296 = 1521 ( subtract 1296 from both sides )

h² = 225 ( take square root of both sides )

h =
√(225) = 15

Then

A =
(1)/(2) × 72 × 15 = 36 × 15 = 540 mi²

Answer:

height= 30 area= 2160

Explanation:

I don't think this is even right, but since a triangle adds up to 180, subtract the 72 and both 39's from 180. that should give you 30, the missing number (the height)

Then, to find area the formula is a=b*h

You already have the base in the image and you already calculated the height

Again, I don't know if this is right. It's not the same as how I do it here
