In a class, there are twice more boys than girls. Six boys leave the class and six girls arrive ;

therefore, there are twice more girls than boys .
How many boys and girls were there at first ?

Answer:

Boys= 12

Girls= 6

Explanation:

Let no: of girls be 'x'

No: of boys= 2x

boys after= 2x-6

girls after = x+6

according to the question,

2(2x-6)=x+6

4x-12=x+6

3x=18

x=6

No: of girls at first= 6

No: of boys at first=2*6=12
