x=10; y=−5x+30
Step: Solve x=10
for x: x=10
Step: Substitute
10 for x in y=−5x+30:
y=−5x+30
y=(−5)(10)+30
y=−20
(Simplify both sides of the equation)
Answer: x=10 y=-20 (10,-20)
