Since the shelter-in-place and stay-at-home order, we have been taking so many walks and hikes. Urban hiking is one of my favorite things to do. We have been to San Francisco more than once just to walk the hilly streets; it’s beautiful but can be crowded, even during the stay-at-home orders. The last time we went we saw a flock of wild green parrots they were perched on top of the pine trees at a park in Nob Hill. This is a true story at some point someone’s pair of pet green parrots escaped now there is a flock in San Francisco they look out-of-place and spectacular, but you have to know where to find them and also have a little luck. Yesterday, in the park by my home in San Jose neighbors spotted a bald eagle,(that’s unheard of, in all my years living in San Jose almost 30 years I have never seen a bald eagle in the city). I have seen golden eagles on my drive to Gilroy, and I have even seen a condor flying over the Gavilan campus once, but I have never seen a bald eagle. I am not sure what may have brought this magnificent bird into a busy part of the city my best guess is that all the people walking and riding their bikes in the park nowadays have scared off other predators, like coyotes, which are not uncommon in San Jose, and the eagle can more easily catch the snakes and rodents. I am hoping the eagle is there again today when I go out on my walk.

Nice, if you are in the more urban parts then it's definitely rarer but now with the orders, it is safer for animals. I remember once I saw a hawk in Oakland so it was pretty cool.
