mean is the average and can be calculated by adding the scores and then dividing by the total number of scores.

for this take the total number of childrena and divide by the number of families which should give 3.5.

median is the middle number when the scores are put in order.

an easy way to find it from this data set is to just add the number of families from top down and bottom up and seeing where they meet which should be 3.

mode is the number that occurs the most in a data set.

for this data set it would be where the greatest number for number of families is which is 3 as there is 82 families.
