Amanda has a jar full of marbles. The probability of randomly selecting a blue marble is 1/18 , a red marble is 1/9, a green marble is 1/3, and a yellow marble is 1/2. Which marble is Amanda least likely to randomly select?

Answer:

A. blue

Explanation:

If you want the marble that is least likely to be selected, you just want the fraction that has the biggest denominator.

In this case, it is 1/18, or A. blue

Answer: Amanda is least likely to pick a blue marble.

Explanation:

You have to change the denominator to the same so 18. Blue is 1/18, red would be 2/18 because you have to times 9 by two so you do the same to the numerator. And yellow would be 9/18 because 2 x 9 = 18 and 1 x 9= 9. 1/18 is the least.
