Example on how to solve:

To figure out the tip, you need to find 20% of $52.60.
0.2×52.6=10.52
You should leave $10.52 for the waiter if you want to leave him exactly 20%.

To figure the tax, you need to find 8% of $52.60.
0.08×52.6=4.208
Next, add them up:
52.6+10.52+4.208=67.328
The total bill, including tax and tip, will be $67.33.

Answer:

Hello there! :) The tip they would leave you would be of $23.23

Explanation:

The first step is to devide 116.17 by 100, which would equal 1.1617, which is obviously not your answer or a valid amount of money. But, you now take this 1.1617 by 20. Why? Becuase 20% is the same as 20 out of 100. Now you multiply 1.1617 × 20 and you will get $23.23.
