The subject of slavery is very personal because as an African-American, it hurts me to see how my ancestors were beat, raped, and killed. I know that there would be no America if my ancestors didn't do the back-breaking manual work required to build a country without the use of the big equipment and tools of today. I feel you. I agree that without the enslaved persons, we would not have the lives we do now. Even so, I am unhappy with the lives some of us live, when we can do something to make a difference. Instead of hurting people, we should be helping them.
