One reason why the Americans won the Revolutionary War was because around 1776, George Washington, commander of the American forces at the time, strategically led his troops toward Trenton, New Jersey to attack the British opposing forces as retaliation for the many men he lost to General William Howse. Washington’s approach was successful, resulting in him losing 200 of his men while the British lost 2,000 of theirs. This was considered a win for the Americans. A second reason as to why the Americans won the Revolutionary War was due to new allies joining forces with the Americans. In 1778, France signed a treaty of alliance with the US to aid in the supplying of weapons and other resources since the Americans were seen as having a higher chance of winning the war.
