Answer:
(1)/(3) is smaller than
(4)/(10).

Explanation:

  • Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:LCM of 3 and 10 is 30
  • For the 1st fraction, since 3 × 10 = 30,

(1)/(3)=(1x10)/(3x10)=(10)/(30)

  • Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 10 × 3 = 30,

(4)/(10)=(4x3)/(10x3)=(12)/(30)

  • Since the denominators are now the same, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the greater fraction

  • (10)/(30)<(12)/(30)or(1)/(3)<(4)/(10)
