A floor 3.2m long and 2.8 m wide is to be covered with square shaped tiles of length 10cm. Find the coast of flooring if the coast tiles is Rs 150 per 100 tile.

Convert the dimensions of the floor to cm = Area of a rectangle = length x breadth = 320 x 280 = 89,600m²

Area of a square = length² = 10cm² = 100cm²

Number of tiles that would be needed = area of floor / area of square

89,600cm² / 100cm² = 896

Cost of one tile = rs 150 / 100 = 1.5

Cost of 896 tiles = 1.5 x 896 = 1344
