Solution:

We can see that the 90° angle is divided into two angles. Thus, the sum of two angles must equal 90°.

  • => 90 = 5x + 25 + x + 5

Combine like terms:

  • => 90 = x(5 + 1) + 5(5 + 1)
  • => 90 = x(6) + 5(6)
  • => 90 = 6x + 30

Subtract 30 both sides:

  • => 90 - 30 = 6x + 30 - 30
  • => 60 = 6x

Divide 6 both sides:

  • => 60 = 6x
  • => x = 60/6 = 10

The value of x is 10.

5x + 25 + x + 5 = 90

6x + 30 = 90

6x = 90 - 30

6x = 60

x = 10
