Dear Chris,
It has been a while since I last heard from you. How about everyone at home? I hope all is well over there? I really long to spend my holidays with your family again as I did last year.
I saw your recent social media post in which you requested that someone should describe a typical village market scene to you as vividly as possible so i decided to do that.
In my village, the native market is called Orie Ntigha. The market day holds every four days and is usually a beehive of activities on such days, People come from far and wide to buy farm produce at cheaper rates compared to urban areas.
The market typically opens on a market day around 6 am. People from the city arrives the market as early as possible so that they can buy very fresh fruits, vegetables and other farm produce.
Traders in the market are mostly composed of rural farmers who depend on the sale of farm produce for sustenance. The market is quite small and the shops in the market are constructed with bamboo and clay soil but the volume of trading activities that go on each market day is simply alarming!
I hope that you will visit my village on a market day in order to see things for yourself.
Extend my regards to all members of your family.
Yours Sincerely,
\ Jude
