Given Equation :-

\qquad
\pink{\bf \longrightarrow 2x -2 = 4x +6}

Let's overturn the equation –

\qquad
\sf \longrightarrow 4x +6 = 2x -2

Subtract 2x from both side –

\qquad
\sf \longrightarrow 4 x +6 -2x = 2x -2 -2x

Cancel 2x from right side & also simplify this equation

\qquad
\sf \longrightarrow 4 x +6 -2x =\cancel{ 2x} -2 -\cancel{2x}

\qquad
\sf \longrightarrow 2x +6 = -2

Now, subtract 6 from both side

\qquad
\sf \longrightarrow 2x +6 -6 = -2-6

Once again, cancel 6 from left side –

\qquad
\sf \longrightarrow 2x +\cancel{6} -\cancel{6} = -2-6

On simplification –

\qquad
\sf \longrightarrow 2x = -8

Now, divide both sides by 2

\qquad
\sf \longrightarrow (2x)/(2) = (-8)/(2)

\qquad
\sf \longrightarrow \frac{\cancel{2}x}{\cancel{2}} =\cancel{ (-8)/(2)}

\qquad
\pink{\bf \longrightarrow x = -4}

  • Henceforth, value of x is -4.
