Is (x-4) a factor of (x3 +x2 -16x-16)?

Answer:

f(x)= x^3+x^2-16x-16

By the factor theorem,

f(4)=4^3+4^2-(16×4)-16 =0

Since f(4)=0, (x-4) is a factor of x^3+x^2-16x-16
