First off, we can start by converting thirds into sixths.
1 • 2 = 2
3 • 2 = 6
Now, let’s simplify and subtract:
7 2/6 - 5 1/6 = 2 1/6
7 1/3 - 5 1/6 = 2 1/6, which in decimal form is the equivalent of approximately 2.16.
