Hey there!

2(x + y)

DISTRIBUTE 2 WITHIN the PARENTHESES

= 2(x) + 2(y)

= 2x + 2y

Therefore, your answer is: 2x + 2y

Basically, 2 (the first one) is your coefficient, x & y are your variables, and 2 (the second one) is your constant. Whereas, your addition symbol (the sum or +) is your operator.

Good luck on your assignment & enjoy your day!
