Answer:

a = -7/17

Explanation:

Add -4a to -2a

This makes -6a. Then you add 6a to the left to cancel it out, but you must also add 6a to the right of the =

Then you have -7 = 17a

Divide 17 from both sides and you have -7/17 = a
