In Act 4 of Tartuffe, Cleante asks Tartuffe to help him with mending the relationship between Orgon and Damis (A). Cleante is concerned about the conflict between Orgon and Damis and hopes that Tartuffe can use his influence and persuasion to reconcile them. Cleante suggests that Tartuffe could talk to Orgon and try to convince him to be more understanding and forgiving towards Damis.
