p(x)/q(x) = (x+1)/(x-1)

Explanation:

p(x)/q(x) is just dividing the two functions. So we'll put p(x) on top and q(x) on the bottom.

Now it looks like a fraction over a fraction. Use Keep-Change-Flip to simplify. Keep the top. Change the divide to times. Flip the bottom. See image.

(You can always use Keep-Change-Flip for numbers only, radicals, and algebraic expression in fraction over a fraction situations)

To multiply fractions, multiply top×top and bottom×bottom straight across.
