Do you mean that you want to create a distributive statement with 1/2 on the outside and a sum of 2 terms on the inside of a set of brackets? That's pretty wordy, but I mean something like

1/2 (x + a)

1/2*a = 3/5 Multiply both sides by 2.

a = 2 * 3/5

a = 6/5

Answer

1/2 ( x + 6/5)
