n-5=12
Explanation:
5 less than a number equals 12 therefore the number minus 5 will equal 12.
example
say n is 17
5 less then 17 is 12 is true ( 17-5=12)
17 less than 5 is 12 is not true (5-17=12)

N-5=12 n would equal 17 and because it is asking 5 less then a number is 12 it would be n(the number)-5=12
