algebra

-

x = -4y + 10

x = 2y - 14

both of equations are equivalent,

-4y + 10 = 2y - 14

2y + 4y = 24

6y = 24

y = 4

substitute y = 4 into one of them, choose the first equation !

x = -4y + 10

x = -4(4) + 10

x = -6

here, we got the solution {x , y} = {-6 , 4}
