Answer:

Through the abnormal division of a noncancerous cell, which could also be due to an underlying problem.

Step-by-step explanation:

Well, the only difference between cancerous and noncancerous tumors is that cancerous tumors spread to other parts of the body, while noncancerous tumors stay in only one place. However, they both divide excessively. It's also important to add that the cells in noncancerous tumors are noncancerous, even though they abnormally divide like a cancer cell would in a tumor.

Not all tumors are cancerous. Tumors can be either benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Benign tumors are growths that do not spread to other parts of the body and are usually not life-threatening. They are usually not aggressive and can often be removed without causing any harm to the body. Examples of benign tumors include moles, skin tags, and some types of cysts.

On the other hand, malignant tumors are cancerous and can spread to other parts of the body. They are more aggressive and can be life-threatening if left untreated. Malignant tumors are usually treated with surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, or a combination of these treatments.

In the case of your relative, it sounds like the tumor that was removed from her finger was benign. Benign tumors are more common than malignant tumors and can occur in any part of the body. It is important to have any unusual growths or lumps checked by a healthcare provider to determine if they are benign or malignant.
