To find the median, you write all numbers from lower to higher, and the number in the middle is the median.

In the event of having two middle numbers we add them up and divide by two, aka average them out.


1 > 2 > 3 > 4 \\ ((2 + 3))/(2) = 2.5

The median above is 2.5

The data we can collect from the chart, in ascending order would be:

The median amount spent is:


((25 + 30))/(2) = 27.5

The range is the difference between the lowest and the highest number, we just subtract one of the other:
