∠ 2 = 53°

Explanation:

from the diagram

∠ 1 + ∠ 2 = ∠ ABD

∠ 1 is 12° more than ∠ 2 then ∠ 1 = ∠ 2 + 12

so

∠ 2 + 12 + ∠ 2 = 118°

2 ∠ 2 + 12° = 118° ( subtract 12° from both sides )

2 ∠ 2 = 106° ( divide both sides by 2 )

∠ 2 = 53°
