Explanation:

the area of the whole cone would be


A=\pi rl+\pi r^2


l would be
l=√(r^2+h^2)

so if we substitute;


\pi *1.75*(1.75+√(4^2+1.75^2))

this gives us a total surface area of 33.6

BUT, we don't want the base of the cone, we lets subtract it by getting the area of a circle respective to the base radius.


a=\pi r^2


a=\pi *1.75^2


a=9.6

so the final area would be
33.6-9.6=24
