Gerri says that if a number is a multiple of 9 it is also a multiple of 3.Do you agree? Explain.

Yes. Since 3 is a factor of 9, anything 9 can go into, 3 can also go into.

3x3=9

So, whenever 9 can go into something, it will take 3 times as many 3s to go into that number.

Example:
3 nines = 27
9 threes = 27
9 is 3 times as many as 9.

To sum everything up, Gerri is correct. This is because 3 is a factor (goes into 9 evenly) of 9.
