For the linear function ƒ(x) = 7x – 4, find the range of ƒ(x) at x = –2, 0, and 2.

A)

ƒ(–2) = –18, ƒ(0) = 4, ƒ(2) = 10

B)

ƒ(–2) = –18, ƒ(0) = –4, ƒ(2) = 10

C)

ƒ(–2) = 10, ƒ(0) = –4, ƒ(2) = –18

D)

ƒ(–2) = 18, ƒ(0) = –4, ƒ(2) = 10

The correct answer is B
When x= -2
F(-2) = 7(-2) - 4
= -14 - 4
= -18
When x= 0
F(0) = 7(0) - 4
= 0 - 4
= -4
When x= 2
F(2) = 7(2) - 4
= 14 - 4
= 10

F(-2) = -18, F(0) = -4, F(2) = 10
