Explanation:

it is an isoceles triangle (both legs are equally long).

that means also both base angles are equal :

angle J = angle L = 40°

the sum of all angles in a triangle is always 180°.

so,

180 = angle J + angle L + angle K = 40 + 40 + angle K

angle K = 180 - 40 - 40 = 100°
