After the French and Indian war it created it huge amount of debt right since war is very expensive so they started giving out taxes like the stamp tax a tax on newspaper etc, Also btw the colonist thought this was very unfair which then was to the Boston tea party ( Taxation without representation) the colonist felt they had no representation like the people from Britain
