m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) ==> (x1, y1), (x2, y2) are the coordinates and

m is the slope

(x1, y1), (x2, y2) ==> (x1=-4, y1=7), (x2=5, y2=-8)

m=(-8-7)/(5-(-4)) ==> plug in known values

m=(-15)/(5+4) ==> simplify

m=-15/9

m=-5/3
