Explanation:

this means nothing else than MN = PQ.

there is no other meaning of congruence for 2 lines.

so,

2x + 1 = 3x - 7

1 = x - 7

x = 8

therefore,

PQ = 3x - 7 = 3×8 - 7 = 24 - 7 = 17
