2y + x - 4 = 2x - y ( subtract 2x - y from both sides )

3y - x - 4 = 0 ( add 4 to both sides )

3y - x = 4 → (1)

and

`(4x-3y+5)/(2)` = 2x - y ( multiply both sides by 2 to clear the fraction )

4x - 3y + 5 = 4x - 2y ( subtract 4x - 2y from both sides )

- y + 5 = 0 ( subtract 5 from both sides )

- y = - 5 ( multiply both sides by - 1 )

y = 5

substitute y = 5 into (1)

3(5) - x = 4

15 - x = 4 ( subtract 15 from both sides )

- x = - 11 ( multiply both sides by - 1 )

x = 11

(ii)

then

2x - y = 2(11) - 5 = 22 - 5 = 17

perimeter = 4 × 17 = 68 cm
