Answer:

3.) f(9)=12

4.) x=18 when f(x)=0

Explanation:

These are questions about inputs and outputs. Question 3 is asking what f(x) equals when x=9. Find the 9 in the x row and the answer is the value below it in the f(x) row. In this case, f(9)=12. By the same token, if f(x)=0, find 0 in the f(x) row and the answer can be found above it in the x row. In this case, f(x)=0 corresponds to x=18.

Answer:

3) f(9) = 12

4) f(x) = 0; x = 18

Explanation:

Look at the table and notice the first column has x and the other column has f(x).

Question 3 says solve f(9) so in the first column you just have to look for the number 9 and look down onto the second column in the same row, your answer is therefore 12.

For question 4, you do the opposite. It says solve for f(x)=0. Look for 0 on the second column then look up onto the first column in the same row you answer should be 18.

So basically whatever number is inside the parenthesis in f(x) is the number on the top column and its solution is on the same row in the second column or vice versa.

Hope this helps!
