Water is flowing into the tank at a rate of 5 litres per minute. At the same time water flows out of the tank at a rate of k litres per minute. The volume (in litres) of water in the tank at time t (in minutes) is given by the formula V(t) = 100-4t. What is initial volume of water in the tank?

V(t)=100-4t so at the beginning of the experiment t=0

so you substitute to the given formula

V(0)=100-4(0)

=100litres .
